Day #3 in Vegas- Hoover Dam day

Well Day #3 was the trip to Hoover Dam...Let me start out by saying........traffic sucked but the long drive was well worth it.

You can see behind Roberts picture that the Feds are building a new road and bridge to the Hoover Dam area that is long over due. But this improvement should make for a much faster drive to the Dam. Robert loved this part of the trip. He had been preparing his list of "Dam Questions" for days...Such as "Where is the Dam bathroom?" "Wehn does the Dam Tour Start?" "Who is the Dam tour guide?' and any of a thousand other "Dam" questions...and we asked them all and giggled like girls the whole time....
I guess you don't have to be mature when on vacation.

We took lots of pictures, and lets just add the dam is BIG and Tall. My Vertigo was ragging everytime we got close to the edge and tried to look over. At one point, after taking a picture, I turned around and saw Lauren sitting on the ledge right next to the stay off ledge sign. She got yelled at and didn't think that was cool.... After the trip to the Dam we went back to our room, took a nap then went out to dinner with my old work buddy Mark Ferraro and his roommate Mike. The food was great and it was good to see Mark again. It was a nice cap to the day. There was no Day #4 as we had planned. We found out we were going to be bumped from our flight on Monday night so we decided not to risk the stand by waiting game just before Christmas and instead we just bougt tickets and flew home at 7 am on Monday. We didn't tell Virginia we were comming home early so she got a nice suprise when we all walked into the kitchen ....A Christmas Miracle if you will.......

Vegas Day #2

Day 2 started with a trip to the Luxor for Brunch. It truley was "all you could eat" at this sitting...I think we were all looking forward to a nap when we left.
Then it was off to Sam Boyd Stadium for the Vegas bowl. BYU vs. Arizona. The Cougars started off with the"Haka" dance to get in the fighting spirit...then played the worst game of football I have seen in a long time. The game ended Arizona 31 BYU 21 but it was never really that close. I guess there is always next year.

Lauren spent most of the game "going to the bathroom" which meant she was just walking around because she dont care about football. It was a cold night for Vegas. The display in the car said it was 44* when we left but it felt like it was 34*. There was a cool fly over by two F-15's who lit up the after burners as they passed over the stadium. It was very cool and very loud. They were moving way to fast for pictures, but it was nice.
The armed forces were on hand to roll out the field sized flag for the national anthem, which was sung by the great star of stage and screen ....David Hasselhoff, Yes the Hoff himself was there....nothing but the best for the Vegas Bowl.

After the game was over we were all thinking we should have stayed longer at the Luxor. Oh well tomorrow is day three and who knows what adventures lay ahead?

Vegas Night Life

We were pressing our luck with all our drinking while the LVNMPD was out in force. We sampled 16 flavors of the world at the Coke store..some were good....some not so good.

It was cool to see the mounted patrol stroll by and the traffic guys were out in force as well.

First day in Las Vegas 12-19-2008

Well here we are on the Strip for only a few hours and Robert is allready caught up in the high stakes world of fashion. He felt the blue bag went best with his eyes......
This was taken in the middle of Lauren's desperate plea that we "buy this for Deanna" and the look on her face should let you all know....Deanna did not get a shiny trinket from Las Vegas...

While walking on the strip we discovered that the night life is full of stars...."Jacko" was more than happy to pose with a few fans....

Wathcing the water and light show at the Bellagio. It almost looks like they were getting along and not fighting with eachother and getting yelled at all night.

And for all of you who wished you were in Las Vegas with us for our pre-Christmas getaway, don't worry, we got you a few gifts....

A Long Overdue Update

Well, it's been a long time since we've updated our site and sure you have all missed us. Lots has happened. We have gone to on many trips and done many things. Above is a picture of Virginia in the botanical gardens in San Francisco. This was a great trip we took in October. We went with our friends the Greco's and had a great time.
This is another shot from the San Francisco trip. On the first day of the trip we unpacked at the hotel then took a long walk to the warf. Even though its been a long time since we've been to S.F. it seemed just like old times.

As you can see the kids are getting older and bigger. I guess they figured since they are acting like they are going to be dealing with the police alot in the future they should try and blend in so the used some of dads old uniforms and "5-0" for halloween.

This was from the Neh Hampshire trip in June. This was a day trip to Maine to look at light houses. We stopped for a mid day snack and as you can see Lauren found out that she likes yogurt in any state.

On the beach in Hampton New Hampshire. There was a lot more that happened since the last time we updated and we are sorry we have not done a better job. There was trip to New York for Virginia, a trip to California, a visit to the BYU-Idaho campus to visit cousin Megan. lots of new hair colors for Lauren and a new puppy,(Snoop), that is now the size of a small horse. We have lots of other things planned such as Jeff, Lauren and Robert taking a Trip to Vegas in December, all the holliday and new years stuff and much more and we promise not to leave you out this time.
